A few weekends ago, I took a trip to Savers and Goodwill in the Hamburg area, just outside Orchard Park. My friends and I left the Fredonia area around noon and made it to Savers by 2:30 p.m. I had only been to this Savers once before, and it was practically empty.
This time, however, the place was packed with all kinds of people–which worried me right off the bat. You see, when you walk into a thrift store and see a lot of people–especially those close to your age and body type–you start to worry that everything good has already been picked over. But then you have to remind yourself: you have your own style and an even better eye for finding the gems.
So, you’re probably wondering what scored. Well, get ready–because I spent $130 between the two thrift stores. Naturally, the first section I hit was the women’s jeans. The thrift gods immediately blessed me with a pair of Rocawear jeans that fit me perfectly. Along with a pair of Levi’s that fit super low-rise on me… also a total score.

I also found a pair of Coogi jeans with the tags still on, but sadly, they were too big. I still bought them, though–they were just too iconic to leave behind. (If you follow my Depop, keep an eye out–they’ll be listed there!)

My favorite find? A classic pair of old low-top black Chuck Taylors for just $6, even though one was missing a sole. I cleaned them up when I got home and have been wearing them nonstop ever since.

I made many laps around the store, up and down the aisles, ensuring I didn’t miss anything. That’s when I stumbled across a white Victoria’s Secret robe in perfect condition–score.
Pictured bellow is a pair of jorts I found at Goodwill, which was our second stop. It was a tiny, quiet store–always a good sign! This photo was actually taken at my friend Julia’s place in California during spring break!

Moving on to the basics… I got two pairs of sweatpants and a plain black t-shirt. I thought one pair of sweatpants might be from a local brand, so I looked it up, and it seems like the designer might be from Buffalo. I DMed them on Instagram, but I haven’t gotten a response yet- hopefully I’ll find out more soon. I linked the brand’s Instagram below with a picture of the sweatpants I found.
This was a successful thrift trip for me, and I’m always happy to support local thrift stores. Whenever I get clothes from a thrift store, I immediately wash them, and then I end up wearing those clothes for about a week straight. Super conventional.
